COTTON QUEEN Berlin Premiere

COTTON QUEEN celebrates its Berlin premiere at HAU1 (Hebbel am Ufer) on April 23 at 8:00 pm as part of the ALFILM Festival. The film will be followed by a discussion with director Suzannah Mirghani, lead actress Mihad Murtada and other guests.

What is it about?

In a Sudanese cotton village, Nafisa grows up with her grandmother's fairytale stories. When a businessman from abroad arrives with genetically modified seeds and big development plans, she becomes a key figure in the power game for the future of the village and discovers her own strength in the process.
