Daniel Thieme - Live im Kino & Bar in der Königstadt

In the organizer's words:

In his new performance, Hamburg musician and audiovisual artist Daniel Thieme combines film and music to create a hypnotic interplay.

As a multi-instrumentalist, he plays piano, flugelhorn, bass, percussion and sings live to synchronized film sequences. The element of "water" is particularly fascinating: he uses a self-made hydrophone to record sounds in a pool of water, while a camera dives into the depths with the sounds. Vast echo chambers are created, making the hidden world of the oceans audible.

The project explores our perception, the connection between man and nature, the destruction of the earth and the seemingly invisible things of the world. Fractal structures appear in everyday details and open our eyes to the big in the small. Daniel Thieme has spent years experimenting with scientific precision in order to merge sound and image into an immersive experience.
