The climate crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our time. At the same time, democracy is endangered by authoritarian tendencies. Authoritarian systems tend to prioritize short-term economic interests over ecological responsibility. A stable democracy, on the other hand, enables open discussions about sustainable solutions. Citizens can exert pressure for an effective climate policy through engagement and co-determination. In this way, a strong democracy not only protects freedom, but also the future of our planet.

Following an international call for proposals, the exhibition, which is aimed at adults, is dedicated to this dangerous development: the reduced awareness of the climate crisis, acting with democratic responsibility and targeted disinformation. It poses the question of how political and social decision-making processes can be based on facts and not on sentiment - and what role art can play in communicating these complex relationships.

The project uses artistic means to inform and invite dialog. The exhibition shows works that take a critical look at the relationship between democracy, climate policy and the public. At the same time, it encourages people to think about their own options for action - as citizens, voters and designers. The exhibition and its works are planned and realized in a resource-saving manner. The artists are asked to state the percentage of reused material in their work. For us, sustainability is not only content, but also practice. We are accompanying the exhibition with a dialog-oriented program.

For the first time, we are offering children and young people the opportunity to create small works of art on the theme after a guided tour of the adult exhibition, followed by an exhibition in our rooms.

Feedback for guests: For the first time, we have created an opportunity for you to give us your impressions and feedback after your visit. You will receive a feedback card at the exhibition.
