„Der Dialog“ Eine performative Audioinstallation des Künstlers Johann Kralewski mit der Beteiligung des Sprechchors Dortmund

Dialogue is an interdisciplinary installation by Johann Kralewski that combines visual sculpture, sound art and performance. The focus is on the transformation of language into space and resonance. The work aims at a direct sensual and intellectual confrontation with the tension between becoming and passing away, inwardness and publicity, individuality and collective in a material and spiritual sense.

The centerpiece of the work is a group of figurative sculptures from the artist's previous series of works entitled The Pilgrims, which have already been shown at ten locations in Switzerland and Germany in various constellations and in various collaborations with other artists since March 2021. In the Bonn scenario, the figures sit on pedestals with integrated loudspeakers. The text is played as an audio file via these. The text is a combination of excerpts from Friedrich Hölderlin's essay "Das Werden im Vergehen" and dialogs and commentaries written by Johann Kralewski. In an alternation of the intellectually demanding with the everyday: a collision and a complement at the same time; the abstract and the concrete combine to form a flowing web of meanings.

A live performance will take place during the vernissage: The spoken word choir of the Theater in Dortmund recites, superimposes, fragments and varies central text passages. The collective voice and individual articulation are placed in an exciting relationship to one another.
The audience moves freely through the space. Depending on their position, visitors perceive different dialogs, layers of text and voices: an open composition is created at the moment of reception. The installation thus demands both spatial and mental mobility.

In addition to the "Dialogue" project, the artist is also exhibiting other objects, graphics and paintings at the Künstlerforum.
