Deutschlandpremiere: Cirque Éloize "ID Évolution"

With ID Évolution, Cirque Éloize presents a visionary new creation - based on the successful production ID - that combines urban circus, digital art and great emotions in a completely new way. The renowned company from Montréal is opening a new chapter in nouveau cirque - explosive, poetic and highly topical.

Ten international artists - specialists in breakdance, trampoline, aerial acrobatics, trial bike, cyr wheel and more - move through a visually captivating world in which the boundaries between reality and digital art dissolve. Acrobatics, street dance and hip-hop influences merge into a powerful visual language. Specially composed music and immersive video projections create a dense atmosphere in which questions of identity, belonging and transformation unfold with great intensity.

"West Side Story gone Hip Hop Circus", wrote the Montréal Gazette enthusiastically - perfectly summing up the mixture of classical storytelling, urban energy and circus innovation.
At the heart of this new show, ID Évolution, is a journey through a futuristic city - through body images, lightscapes and digital spaces. The artists tell stories of self-discovery, change and the desire for connection - with oneself, with others and with a changing world.

As with the original piece ID, founder and artistic director Jeannot Painchaud took over the direction. Elon Höglund's choreography has a decisive influence on the production - and creates a show that is as electrifying as it is moving.
"Circus on steroids", cheered The Citizen (Johannesburg) - and indeed: ID Évolution, as a further development of ID, is an exceptional visual and physical experience.

What Cirque Éloize shows here is more than circus: it is an impressive overall experience, a technologically sophisticated spectacle - and a deeply human story in which street art and acrobatics merge.

With over 6,500 performances in 600 cities and 55 countries, Cirque Éloize has long been one of the world's leading contemporary circus companies. The Toronto Star aptly called them: "Canada's National Treasure."
