Crime scene Hanover. A young man is found dead on the banks of the river Ihme, his inline skates still on his feet. A murder case with everything that goes with it: an investigative team groping in the dark, autopsy reports, interrogations, suspense - and an attentive journalist who seems to know more about the case than Inspector Rita Aitzinger herself. Together with her colleague Ilia Schuster, she is faced with many puzzles: Why did the young man have to die so young? What is behind this murder? And what role does the pop song he had been listening to on a continuous loop play? The investigation takes the team through Hanover - from Ihmepark to Linden's burger joints to the State Opera - and into the depths of dating apps.
What begins as a classic criminal case increasingly unfolds as an exploration of human emotions and abysses. Jakob Nolte tells the story of lonely boys, longing and the search for happiness with great sensitivity. In doing so, he paints a bizarre panorama of Hanover: a Hanover that even the locals have never seen before - quirky, abysmal and full of humor. "The Woman with the Four Arms" reveals the gloom of the mundane - and asks what really drives us. A Lower Saxony noir with depth.
