A perfectly normal day in a perfectly normal city - but suddenly a rhinoceros races through the streets. A little later, a second rhino storms past and the transformation begins: the inhabitants don't feel well, their skin hardens, their voices become hoarse until they can only wheeze. Veins swell, body temperature skyrockets and eventually they become rhinos themselves, breaking through walls, shaking houses and trampling everything. Where will this transformation lead?

In "The Rhinos" based on Eugène Ionesco, choreographed by URSina Tossi, six performers encounter characters and places from the play, put on the roles and take them off again - layer by layer, like different skins. It's about fascism and what goes into the body when fascism makes room for itself: anger, fear and grief. It is about the pleasure that can be found in destruction, but also about the desire to hold hands and oppose transformation. A powerful dance piece with integrated artistic audio description for people with and without visual impairments, which brings the audience into a state in which they can feel the trampling and panting of the rhinos.
