Since October 7, 2023, anti-Semitism has been on the rise not only on the right but also on the left. Israel is being declared a colonial oppressor, its right to exist is being questioned and Hamas' terrorist attack on Israel is being celebrated as an act of liberation.

What role does traditional anti-Zionism play here? What influence do post-colonialist approaches have? And is part of the progressive left on the way to a new authoritarianism? Journalist Nicholas Potter explores these explosive questions in his new book "The New Authoritarian Left. An acute threat to democratic society". Dr. Ernst Wolfgang Becker will speak with him.

The event is a cooperation between the Stiftung Bundespräsident-Theodor-Heuss-Haus and the Haus der Geschichte Baden-Württemberg as part of the focus programs "Still. Anti-Semitism in Germany" and "Anti-Anti 2.0: Together against Anti-Semitism".
