SuperCoop + WERTSCHÄTZEN invite you to a movie night
The Co-op Wars takes us back to the 1970s, when a group of idealistic people in the USA tried to create an alternative to the capitalist mainstream - by setting up food co-ops.
But what began as a communal vision developed into a bitter conflict: a revolutionary group wanted to take over the co-ops by force. Friends and comrades-in-arms were suddenly at loggerheads over issues of justice, inclusion, health and democracy.
Today, with organic and natural food having long since entered the mainstream, the debate seems more relevant than ever. The Co-op Wars impressively shows how cooperatives can not only secure supply, but also be tools for social change.
Following the movie, we would like to look at our own community: SuperCoop members will have the opportunity to share their experiences - about the history and future of their co-op, upcoming changes as well as personal motivation to engage in collaborative business. In this way, the moving story from The Co-op Wars will be combined with our very own questions and visions on the ground.
An inspiring evening for everyone who believes in community, sustainability and social justice.
