DOUBLE DRUMS & RENNER - Jumu goes Freie Szene

The national competition "Jugend musiziert" is coming to Munich! From May 22-26, the drum set (pop) competition will take place at schwere reiter. The City of Munich's Department of Culture is taking this special event as an opportunity to present two outstanding local ensembles from the independent scene on Sunday, May 24, who have excelled in drum set and percussion.

The RENNER trio features Moritz and Valentin Renner, two musicians who themselves took part in the national Jugend musiziert competition in the 2010s and won awards. The RENNER trio is now known far beyond the country's borders and has won several prizes; in March, they took first place at the 16th European Burghausen Young Musicians' Jazz Prize. The band impresses with intelligent compositions, emotional and virtuoso playing and a warm, transparent sound that can be musically categorized as modern jazz.

It comes as no surprise that drums, percussion and marimbas, played by experts, produce amazing sounds. But the fact that shopping in a DIY store can produce an almost adventurous sound fascinates even connoisseurs .... The musical wit and imagination of DOUBLE DRUMS are boundless - and not just when it comes to tool shuffle. Alexander Glöggler and Philipp Jungk create sound experiences full of magic and surprises.

DOUBLE DRUMS merge the boundaries between classical music, groove, sophistication and entertainment, for which they have been awarded the Bavarian Arts Promotion Prize, among others. Music education for children is particularly important to them, and they inspire young and old alike in workshops and countless family concerts.
