You will encounter classical music in perfection when the Dresden Kreuzchor awaits you on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 5:00 pm for Vespers. Together with the Junge Camerata Dresden under the direction of Kreuzkantor Martin Lehmann, a program will unfold that celebrates the timelessness of classical music across four centuries.

The program opens with contemporary sounds by Jan Arvid Prée and Ola Gjeilo, whose "The Spheres" creates an almost supernatural atmosphere. This modern take on classical music then meets the architectural clarity of the Baroque: Heinrich Schütz's "Ich bin ein rechter Weinstock" and Johann Sebastian Bach's double-choir motet "Der Geist hilft unser Schwachheit auf" bring the deep tradition of Dresden church music to life.

The Romantic choral cantatas by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy form the festive finale. His "Verleih uns Frieden gnädiglich" ("Grant us peace graciously") provides a hopeful conclusion to a vesper that shows how powerful classical music can be today.
