Set 1: Vojta Drnek (SOLO) accordion

Accordionist and composer based in Berlin, Vojta Drnek is a prominent figure on the Czech and German improvisation scene. His music blends elements of jazz, contemporary music, and free improvisation with a deep sensitivity to sonic detail and space.In his solo project, he explores extreme accordion techniques to create entirely unique sound struct ures. Through a dynamic interplay of silence and resonance, he shapes musical worlds that are both intimate and monumental. Each concert becomes an unrepeatable journey into the depths of the accordion’s sound.

José Lencastre is celebrated for his versatility and innovative approach

to jazz and improvised music. Over the years, he has become a pivotal

figure in the vibrant Portuguese improvised scene, known for his ability

to seamlessly navigate various musical genres within the contemporary creative music idiom.His music is deeply rooted in the belief that it holds a transformative

and healing power. This approach reflects Lencastre’s dedication to

contributing to a better, more harmonious world. Each performance is

designed to create moments of introspection, emotional resonance, and

unity, allowing music to transcend its traditional boundaries and foster

a profound connection between musicians and the

audience.

Anna Sophia Defant is a pianist, improviser and composer who originally

comes from Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer (Salzburg/Austria).

Her musical development has taken her from classical to contemporary

music and avant-garde jazz to free improvised music. Most recently she

has collaborated with Christian Reiner, Kenji Herbert, Jakob Gnigler,

Michael Prowaznik, Raphael Preuschl, Bernhard Hammer, Isabella

Forciniti, Franz Hautzinger, Jul Dillier, Flora Geißelbrecht, Matija

Schellander, José Lencastre and Raphael Schuster. Within Austria Anna

Sophia Defant has performed in various formations at International

Jazzfestival Saalfelden, Brucknerhaus Linz, ORF Radiokulturhaus Vienna,

Porgy & Bess Vienna and brut nordwest.
