A band like Drug Church is the result of having a passion for music and not taking themselves too seriously. The fact that this authenticity has been the key to the band's success plays into their musical and personal looseness. Their sound - a mix of 1980s alternative rock, punk, grunge and modern post-hardcore - has never been completely fixed since the release of their first album. Their personal, honest and at times humorous and satirical lyrics have also made the band a celebrated name within the modern punk and hardcore scene in the USA, quickly gaining international acclaim. Drug Church have also long since arrived in Europe with their laid-back, not-too-serious image. After a tour in summer 2025, shows at festivals such as Rock am Ring, Rock im Park and Outbreak and a support tour for Deftones in early 2026, the band from New York will return to Germany in September 2026 for five concerts on a headline tour. At the concerts in Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt am Main and Cologne, Drug Churchwill be supported by Liquid Mike, the rock band founded by Mike Maple. In 2011, the two guitarists Nick Cogan and Cory Galusha founded the band Drug Church in St. Albany, New York, together with singer Patrick Kindlon, bassist Patrick Wynne and drummer Chris Villeneuve. In the first year of the band's history, they released their first demo, which led to their first label deal. After the first EP "Self Titled" (2012), on which Drug Church presented their aggressive sound for the first time, they further expanded their multi-faceted sound on their debut album "Paul Walker" in 2013. The "Swell" EP and the album "Hit Your Head" followed in 2015. After signing to Pure Noise Records, the third album "Cheer" was released in 2018, which stands out with its grunge and alternative influences and was listed by Visions as one of the 25 most important modern hardcore albums. Since then, Drug Church have continued to expand their sound with the EP "Tawny" and the two albums "Hygiene" (2022) and "Prude" (2024), adding various aspects that make it almost impossible to pin the band down to a single genre. Perhaps this is precisely the reason why Drug Church are so successful with their uncompromising all-fun-and-games attitude.
