Duo Hübner-Schönfelder

Film music composer Falk Schönfelder and Grenzgänger cellist Matthias Hübner combine their respective musical backgrounds to create a sound-intensive dialog that oscillates between joyful lightness and dreamy profundity. The duo uses the cello and piano in a modern and diverse way. Their program wanders from great spheres of sound to transcendental moments and remains rhythmically captivating, playful and experimental in composition and performance.

Falk Schönfelder has been active as a pianist in many different bands for years, from larger rock bands to small chamber music ensembles.

Matthias Hübner has created his own sound language over the years of intensive concert activity. The special feature of his music is the particular use of the cello. With its captivating sound, it is reminiscent of the human voice. "The musician not only makes it sing, but also sob, scream, grunt and cry."
