Klasse für Type-Design × ECAL - A Typographic Atlas

In the organizer's words:

The traveling exhibition was developed in collaboration with the ECAL (University of Art and Design Lausanne) and the Type Design class at the HGB Leipzig. It provides an overview of what type design is, what it can achieve visually and how characters are used in everyday life. The opening on April 9 at 5 p.m. in the HGB Gallery will feature a "Type Design Bar", a brief introduction to the exhibition and talks with international designers.

We are surrounded by type every day, but few people think about the designers who create typefaces.

The exhibition offers a space that is accessible not only to experts, but also to a wider audience. The concept is inspired by the frames used by book printers to dry their freshly printed sheets. It shows experimental letterforms, extensive font families and various typefaces.
