Robert Metcalf, the friendly Brit with the bowler hat, will be familiar to some, especially parents. Metcalf is a regular guest with his own children's songs on the show with the elephant on the children's channel and on all the big children's stages. However, the Englishman in Berlin had already written songs for adults before his time as a children's star and is now returning to these roots. In his songs, the singer/songwriter from Birmingham (England) tells of incidents from the 50 years he has been living in Berlin. Stories, unspecific thoughts, happy and sad, profound and trivial in English and German.

He is supported by the all-round musician Guido Raschke. The two deliver strong, expressive songs in careful arrangements, with very different styles and moods. The music moves excitingly between chanson and rock, jazz ballads and swing tunes. There is also a pinch of musical cabaret and a good dose of British humor.
