Skimboarding is an unusual water sport in which daredevil athletes glide over water on a flat board. They use the effect of aquaplaning and require neither wind nor waves, which means that the sport - unlike windsurfing, surfing and the like - can also be practiced in the big city.
The huge fountain field at Uber Platz with its 96 jets is particularly suitable for the sport and was officially opened in summer 2023 by skimboarding superstar Adrien Raza. After another successful skimboarding session in 2024, Uber Platz will now host the European Skimboarding Cup for the first time.
The unique location between the Spree, the East Side Gallery and the vibrant Warschauer Straße will not only allow skimboarders to have fun on their boards, but also to share the ultimate Berlin experience with visitors. Be there when up-and-coming talent and the best of the scene compete for the title at Uber Platz!
