The problem is not the fall. It's the impact. This applies to the fall from the bike as well as the flight of emotions. The ground of reality can hurt, especially when you take full risk. In FEELS LIKE FALLING, Mareike Fiege explores what else connects biking and desire. With her ensemble of performers, extreme athletes and authors, she creates a poetics of mountain biking and motocross. Sports that require radical dedication and passion. Like love. It's about falls and accidents, moments in limbo, fragile balances and the leap into the unknown - sometimes the only thing that takes us further. Heart over head. The focus of the performance: athletes and their two-wheelers that can fly and fall. People who seem to have conquered their fear of falling and dare to dance in the air. An experiment begins: How do I overcome the barrier of my own fear?
