Feels Like Home

The shoe brand Liberta promises "Freedom. Comfort. No limits." Not for Rita: her shoe store is bankrupt and she is now unemployed. To make matters worse, she is abducted on the street by strangers and locked in a chamber. The perpetrators claim: "Your name is Szilvi and you ran away from us, your family. But we will help you to remember!" This "help" works through food deprivation and humiliation. The more Rita fights against being broken by the autocratic head of the family "Papa" and the submissive relatives, the deeper she looks behind the façade of the ailing clan - and comes up with a plan.

Hungarian director Gábor Holtai's debut is a nasty mind game with unforeseeable consequences. The outstanding camerawork masterfully captures the oppressive setting and the fear of the characters.
