The US-American duo femtanyl combines their affinity for hardcore, breakcore, industrial and other hard-edged electronic subgenres in a colorful musical potpourri, according to Katie Bain from Billboard. This boundary-pushing sound has been making waves worldwide since 2023. With currently over 4 million streams per week, femtanyl continue to look for ways to push their own limitations, creating a chaotic mix of rave, dance and punk sensibilities on their debut album "MAN BITES DOG". Pitchfork celebrated the duo for this "ferocious digital hardcore" that channels "horror aesthetics through maximalist rave chaos". The album, which was released on February 13, also put femtanyl on the NME 100 list. Now they have announced a headline tour to present their work live. In addition to their festival debut at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, the Man Bites Dog Tour will take femtanyl to Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne in June.

femtanyl originally began as a solo project by Noelle Stockwood, who attracted attention from 2023 with songs such as "MURDER EVERY 1 U KNOW!" and "GIRL HELL 1999". In September of that year, she released the debut EP"Chaser", which collected over 40 million streams within the first year. From 2024, femtanyl performed live for the first time and quickly sold out shows in Canada before the EP "Reactor" was released. With the second EP under her belt, Noelle continued to build her cult-like following and delivered more fan favorites with the songs "KATAMARI" and "PUSH URT3MPRR". In the summer of 2024, she met multi-instrumentalist Juno Callendar. Juno then became part of the project as a live drummer and turned femtanyl into a duo. After rapper Danny Brown had already featured on the song "M3 N MIN3" on the second femtanyl EP, Brown not only invited the duo to feature on his album "Stardust" - he also took them along as support on the accompanying Stardust Tour. This was followed by a support tour for Machine Girl, their first sold-out mini-headline tour and work on their debut album. On "MAN BITES DOG", femtanyl worked with a lively exchange of project files between Toronto and Seattle - without even beginning to select a specific genre. The result is a record "that is an unabashed declaration of love to our favorite music, movies and books that connected us during that time. It's also a deeply frustrated reaction to the circumstances that forced our collaborative creative process to take place remotely in the first place," says femtanyl.
