A weekend at the Wadden Sea turns into a severe emotional test for Fiete (Leonard Scheicher). Together with his girlfriend Amiri (Zeynep Bozbay), he meets his former best friend Luca (Johannes Nussbaum), who now lives in a completely different social environment. The unexpected encounter finally brings to light an old guilt that Fiete had actually wanted to suppress forever. The situation escalates as tensions rise within the vacation group, the different worlds clash and harmonious coexistence becomes increasingly difficult.Bubbles is dense, fantastically acted indie cinema from Germany. The film tells an intense and captivating story about the beliefs from which we construct our identity and how these are shaken when we encounter ghosts of the past.
