With the exhibition Flight, the Museum of European Cultures is dedicating itself to an extraordinary photographic project by Frank Gaudlitz. Over the past three years, the photographer has traveled to Moldova, Armenia and Georgia, where he met people whose lives have been shattered by war and its consequences. Around forty touching portraits show people who had to leave their homes because of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine; interviews and quotes complement their stories.
The exhibition Flight combines faces and stories with the abstract figures of flight and migration - and makes visible how different, but also how existential, the reasons are that motivate people to leave their homeland.
