Frohes Festival 2025 – Literatur meets Politik

It remains more important than ever to be political, to seek dialog and to listen to each other. But who actually decides how social dialog is conducted? Who has the power to speak - and who decides who is heard?

Together with attentive authors, activists and journalists, we celebrate literature, people and different perspectives.

On December 12 & 13, 2025, we will explore the many facets of power at the "Frohe Festival": in language and aesthetics, in digital algorithms and literary forms, in political structures and personal biographies.

From feminist counter-designs to patriarchal narrative patterns to resistant writing from crisis regions - from escapism as a subversive act to the power of algorithms in social media.

The Frohe Festival invites you to challenge power structures: How can young, diverse voices reclaim political spaces? How can we afford the future when financial justice becomes the exception? And how can we write resistance without being pinned down?
