On Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26, the historic Schöneweide depot opens its doors and invites young and old railroad fans to a spring festival. The Dampflokfreunde Berlin e.V. will be exhibiting more than 20 locomotives and carriages, including steam locomotives of the 03, 35, 52 and 74 series. Historic locomotives and carriages will be on display for photo opportunities in front of the engine shed and in the open-air grounds.
Hands-on railroad
Everyone can take the driver's seat and have a look at the locomotive boiler or the huge engines of the modern locomotives. Those who prefer to watch the engine driver at work can take a ride in the driver's cab of a diesel or steam locomotive. On a tour of the large engine shed, visitors can learn all about the locomotive workshop from their grandfather's day. A steam locomotive from 1944 is currently being repaired there.
There is a model train exchange in the engine shed. In the outdoor area, children can take a ride on the light railroad.
In the historic dining car and in the beer garden there is home cooking from the kitchen and from the grill.
Admission (box office at the venue): Adults 12 euros, children (6 to 14 years) 5 euros, families (2 adults and up to four children) 30 euros. Opening hours Saturday 10 am - 6 pm, Sunday 10 am - 5 pm. Ticket price in advance plus booking fee. Advance booking fee.
Reduced admission for children aged 6 - 14 only. Children under 6 are free. No further discounts.
The best way to get to the Schöneweide depot is by S-Bahn (S 46, S 8, S 85, S 9). From Johannisthal S-Bahn station, you can cross the pedestrian bridge directly to the Railway Festival. There are (almost) no parking spaces available.
Valid for single entry on April 25, 2026, no exchange, no return, no refund.
