Gay in May 2026

In the organizer's words:

We have been a fixture in queer Osnabrück for over 45 years and in 2026 we welcome you again to our Gay in May cultural festival.

This year, you can expect exciting events and inspiring encounters in the Lagerhalle. Under the motto Everything remains different. We want to exchange ideas about societies and empower each other.

In addition to the literature festival with Leonie Plaar, the House auf Fluicy show evening and a lecture by Rosa Courage award winner Hans Hengelein, a special highlight this year will be the presentation of the Rosa Courage award, with which we are honoring outstanding commitment to the queer community for the 35th time.

@vadi.ms will also be joining us again as Influencer in Residence.

We look forward to celebrating, discussing and setting a strong signal for diversity and acceptance with you.

The program on Saturday:

11 am (planned until approx.1 pm) Group reading and panel discussion with Leonie Plaar, Svenja Schulze and Mae Schwinghammer (foyer),

1 p.m. (planned until approx. 3 p.m.) Lecture and discussion with Hans Hengelein (Room 102),

1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Empowerment workshop by the Kompetent und Queer association (room 205),

1 pm to 4.30 pm (incl. break) with Mikah Rose (room 207),

2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Breath in and breathe out by B.O. kreuz&queer (room 204),

3.30 pm (planned until approx. 5 pm) reading by Reinhard Lüschow (room 102),

16.30 to 18.30 Line dance with Rainbow Funsports (Room 205)

5 p.m. to 7 p.m. bonding ritual by the Kompetent und Queer association (room 204),

5.15 p.m. (planned until approx. 7 p.m.) Talk with Hans Berlin (Room 102),

8 p.m. Show evening by the House of Fluicy (Spitzboden)
