Gay in May 2026

In the organizer's words:

We have been a fixture in queer Osnabrück for over 45 years and in 2026 we welcome you again to our Gay in May cultural festival.

This year, you can expect exciting events and inspiring encounters in the Lagerhalle. Under the motto Everything remains different. We want to exchange ideas about societies and empower each other.

In addition to the literature festival with Leonie Plaar, the House auf Fluicy show evening and a lecture by Rosa Courage award winner Hans Hengelein, a special highlight this year will be the presentation of the Rosa Courage award, with which we are honoring outstanding commitment to the queer community for the 35th time.

@vadi.ms will also be joining us again as Influencer in Residence.

We look forward to celebrating, discussing and setting a strong signal for diversity and acceptance with you.

The program on Sunday:

12 noon to 2 p.m. Graphic novel workshop with Nino Bulling
(Room 207)

12.30 pm (planned until approx. 2 pm) Film and talk by and with Liz Frank (Room 204)

1 p.m. (planned until approx. 2 p.m.) Grimms Quärchen by the Erzähltheater Osnabrück (Spitzboden)

2 pm to 5 pm Self-awareness workshop for FLINTA* people with Laura Ax and Liubov Kolomiiets (Room 205)

2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Cafe` Rose with live music (foyer)

3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Workshop Femininity and self-confidence in dance by Missass Nostalgia (Room 204)

4 pm (planned until approx. 6 pm) abfackeln (graphic novel reading with sound) with Nino Bulling and Bär Kittelmann (Spitzboden)
