GIMMY is the pseudonym of the artist Gemma Owens from Australia. She quickly achieved a high level of recognition in her home country with her authentic interpretation of modern indie rock. A mixture of garage rock, new wave, punk rock and folk.

GIMMY is eccentric and emotional - a singer-songwriter who wears her heart on her sleeve. She is fearless and uncompromising in her lyrics and sound - one moment she's screaming into the microphone in your face, the next she's giving you goosebumps with her breathtaking vibrato. Together with her band, consisting of Samson Radici (guitar), Kyle Aubrey (bass) and Barclay Israel (drums), GIMMY'slive shows are energetic, raw, beautiful and sweaty. Much like their recorded songs, the live experience encourages us to "feel" everything and connect as humans.

GIMMY'sdebut album "Things Look Different Now" from 2024 is the epitome of a debut album: a collection of songs that show how far GIMMY has come and how much things have changed - both in her life and musically - since Gemma Owens launched her solo career in 2021. Throughout the album's 12 tracks, GIMMY explores her own ideas and experiences of 'change' through themes of relationships, ageing, life stages, success, grief and memories. The album is drenched in 80s and 90s nostalgia, with the band assembling an eclectic collection of songs that weave together garage and surf rock, post-punk, folk and indie rock, all wrapped up in GIMMY'spowerful, dynamic voice and unique Australian charm.

The debut album was highly praised by the Australian music media and radio stations. Rolling Stone (AU/NZ) wrote: "GIMMY's debut album is as impressive as expected", and Double J said: "Post-punk, alt-country, jangle pop, pub rock, new wave - it's all there in the songs that herald the arrival of a hugely promising talent".

Having three singer/songwriters in one band definitely has its advantages. The members of AUTUMN SWEATER refuse to choose between fast punk sounds and indie pop ballads and are influenced by both 90s indie and 80s post-punk. They like to jump back and forth between genres, but always stick to the raw guitar sound and down-to-earth melodies that run through their songs. After two self-produced EPs, the band recorded their first album "Car Park" in 2024, which they are now presenting to their audience with great enthusiasm.
