Spooky Electronic + Electro Surf / Rockabilly music in all possible squirmy and parasitic life forms
PATRIC CATANI, who has been up to mischief in the most diverse varieties of (electronic) music for over 30 years and likes to push genre boundaries to the extreme, invites you to the Spooky Halloween Glow at Eschloraque, special guest this time: Yuko Matsuyama.
Patric Catani started with music in the early days of Commodore 64 and Amiga, on which he also produced the lively 8Bit music for E de Cologne, EC8OR and Flex Busterman for several years. Later he was active as a producer for many Puppetmastaz hits. He also co-wrote countless songs and remixes for the many Berlin music legends who helped the city's underground reach its internationally acclaimed plateau.
As Candie Hank, he has been releasing offbeat Moog synthesizer and chiptune-inspired lounge exotica acid cumbia swing for over two decades, sometimes sky-high, sometimes deeply melancholic, but always teaming up with the dancing madness itself.
At Halloween Glow, he will also present his new Game Music EP in the context of the game "Alien Hominid Invasion" released on Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and Playstation, because his passion for video games and their music has accompanied him throughout his career; he skillfully incorporates various of his game soundtracks into his live sets.
YUKO MATSUYAMA is a voice and movement artist. She was introduced to dance at the age of two by her mother and the master of Nihon Buyoh (classical Japanese dance), Fujima Kankyohmi. She later joined the renowned musical and revue company Takarazuka Revue in Japan, where she performed in original productions as well as in well-known musicals such as Me & My Girl, Tommy Tune's Grand Hotel and Elisabeth by Michael Kunze. Her international appearances have included tours abroad to London's Coliseum Theatre, Hong Kong's Hong Kong Cultural Center and Berlin's Friedrichstadtpalast. She has been a resident artist at Haus Schwarzenberg in Berlin-Mitte since 2010. In 2017, she completed her MA in Choreography at the Inter-University Center for Dance Berlin, a joint degree program of the HfS Ernst Busch and the UdK Berlin. She sees live performance as an experimental platform for intercultural dialog. Yuko explores the intersection of dance and music and creates interdisciplinary works in which voice and movement intersect as equal forms of expression.
