Hardline

Hardline is an American rock band that was founded in 1992. Known for their blend of hard rock and melodic metal, they first gained attention with their debut album Double Eclipse in 1992. The band's original line-up consisted of powerful vocalist Johnny Gioeli, guitarist Neal Schon (from Journey) and drummer Deen Castronovo (also from Journey). This high-caliber lineup was instrumental in the band's early success and gave their music a polished, commercial sound.

Double Eclipse contained several hits, including the popular songs "Hot Cherie" and "Takin' Me Down," which helped cement Hardline's reputation as a band that could deliver catchy yet powerful rock anthems. The combination of melodic hooks and expressive vocals created a distinctive sound that appealed to fans of both arena rock and melodic metal.

After the initial success of Double Eclipse, however, the band struggled with line-up changes and periods of inactivity. Despite these challenges, Johnny Gioeli remained the driving force behind Hardline, and the band continued to release albums including II (2002), Leaving the End Open (2009), Danger Zone (2012), Life (2016) and Heart, Mind and Soul (2021). These albums show the band's evolution without losing their signature style of melodic, powerful rock and Gioeli's unmistakable voice.

Hardline's sound is characterized by an energetic mix of melodic rock, powerful vocals and classic rock influences. Over the years, the band has maintained a loyal fan base despite changing line-ups, and their music continues to reflect their roots in the hard rock and melodic metal scene of the 1980s and 1990s.

The band is still active today and is known for their passionate live performances as well as their ability to create music that appeals to fans of both classic hard rock and modern melodic metal.
