"Hermelin auf Bänken" tells the story of someone who sits and explores the world and its history from his bench. "How I missed the war" illustrates the simultaneity of war, the question of the possibility of empathy and the appearance of violence in various forms.

Patrick Holzapfel works as an author, film critic and curator. "Hermelin auf Bänken" is his first book. He is the editor of the online and print magazine "Jugend ohne Film".

Clemens Böckmann works as an author and editor. In 2024, his novel "Was du kriegen kannst" was published by Hanser Verlag. 2025 sees the publication of "Aus Fassungslosigkeit - Thomas Harlan's Täterlitertatur".
