Allerleimary
For 15 years, the Hexenbergen ensemble has been wandering humbly through Grimm's enchanted forest in the footsteps of Hansel and Gretel. We search for the most bizarre, the most terrible, the most beautiful fairy tale and encounter death, devils and enchanted princesses along the way. The best, the grimmest, the fairy tale of all fairy tales has not yet been told. But most of them are very shy of the stage. And we do our utmost to force them into the spotlight with a trick. Because on Hexenberg, the fairy tales are allowed to stage themselves, we just submissively follow their airs and graces. We don't tell them, the fairy tales play with us and lead us to the abysses of our archaic subculture.
And so this season, too, we purposefully lose our way for our audience and lure them astray with relish.
Rabbit and hedgehog
The classic par excellence, our Urgrimm. This is how the brothers Jacob and Wilhelm taught us to make their fairy tales come true in a playful way: with two actors, a small stage the size of a beer mat and great attention to literal detail. The original text is as sacred as the Bible and taken as seriously as a Shakespearean ham. What it says is a strict instruction, even and especially when the hare races 73 laps with the hedgehog. Who plays the hedgehog woman? And how on earth do you credibly fall for the same cheap trick 73 times? Well, quite simply: with the help of the audience and with the greatest of pleasure, yes, we promise: Grimm free on the fairytale mountain!
