Im Schatten der Nacht - Liederabend

In the organizer's words:

A musical journey through the night with wonderful late romantic songs.

The night is a space of shadows, secrets and dreams - a place of pause and darkness. It holds both protection and danger, can seem threatening and yet opens up the possibility of deep connection.

As soon as the light of day fades, a journey begins: from the conscious to the unconscious, from light to dark, from life to death. And yet there is always the promise of a new beginning - anything is possible, anything can happen.

The poems by Heinrich Heine, Richard Dehmel, August von Fallersleben and Clemens Brentano paint moving pictures of love, longing, passion, transience and new beginnings with haunting words.

In the settings by Johannes Brahms, Richard Strauss, Max Reger and Karol Szymanowski, these images not only become audible, but tangible - they transport us to a mysterious, enchanted world beyond the everyday.
