Improvisation für Fortgeschrittene

In the organizer's words:

In this workshop we will focus on questions that lie in the music itself:

• the individual and collective sound material and its variations,
• form and phases and how these are created
• reduction, fullness and the role of the individual in the group.

We will discuss the course of the improvisations and why it turned out this way and not otherwise. In spontaneous ad-hoc concepts we will find out to what extent an improvisation can be influenced by this. It will be about the beginnings, the different ways of reaching an end together and everything in between: tension, development, transitions, intensification and silence. And of course about freedom, commitment, arbitrariness, intuition and chance.

Prerequisites: good to very good instrumental/vocal level, basic experience in improvising. Desire to experiment and reflect.
