Caroline Monnet is a multidisciplinary artist of Anishinaabe and French origin. Originally from the Outaouais region, she lives and works in Mooniyang/Montreal. With a drive to convey Indigenous identity through complex cultural narratives, her artistic-visual and cinematic works explore the impact of colonialism and utilize Anishinaabeg methodologies to rework outdated systems.
Her work has been exhibited at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (Canada), the KØS Museum (Køge, Denmark), the Kunsthalle Schirn (Frankfurt/Main, Germany), the Whitney Biennial (New York, USA) and the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa, Canada), among others.
