In a series of short readings, authors present texts and poems at intervals at four different locations in the Documentation Center.
During the breaks, visitors can move between the locations and presentations.

Exhibition hall: Exile poetry at the touch of a button

One push of a button - one poem. The exile poetry machine displays texts about flight, home and exile. Across eras and countries, 20 authors tell of a world of uprooting and loss of home. A reading with the poet Volha Hapeyeva.

Event hall: Ahmed Awny and Mazda Mehrgan

The Cairo-born author Ahmed Awny will read from his work in Arabic with German surtitles. He is part of the "Weiter Schreiben" project, as is the Kabul-born poet Mazda Mehrgan, who will read her poems in tandem with the German author Uljana Wolf.

A cooperation with Weiter Schreiben, a project of the non-profit organization WIR MACHEN DAS, supported by the Crespo Foundation, the Stiftung Preußische Seehandlung, the C.H. Beck Kulturstiftung and the Weiter Schreiben Freundeskreis.

Room of Silence: Hekma Yagoub

The Sudanese author and human rights activist Hekma Yagoub reads from her radical feminist texts about colonial myths and repressive regimes.

The author was invited to the ilb from Glasgow by the Goethe-Institut in exile.

Library: Ali Alzaeem, Mariia Kaziun and Yasser Niksada

Ali Alzaeem, Mariia Kaziun and Yasser Niksada make use of the poetic form to record the feelings and stories of their experiences of flight in verse. They will take it in turns to read from their lyrical works.

The poets are part of The Poetry Project.
