Concert for the CD release "Goldberg Variations" with pianist Marcel Mok

The "Goldberg Variations" BWV 988 are considered one of the greatest challenges and at the same time one of the most fascinating works of music literature - a cosmos of dancing virtuosity, tonal variety and emotional depth.

Its particular appeal lies in the combination of formal rigor and artistic freedom: from a clear, architectural structure, Bach unfolds an incredible range of moods and forms of expression - sometimes cheerful and humorous, sometimes stormy, sometimes full of inner calm.

With its special atmosphere and acoustics, St. Matthew's Church at Berlin's Kulturforum provides the ideal setting for this evening, in which the depth of expression and complexity of Bach's variations unfold in a new light.
