JOY FOREVER + GRENADE + special guest: HUMANS AS ORNAMENTS

In the organizer's words:

There's no nostalgia show here, but post-punk as it sounds today. Direct, intense and without frills. Three bands bring the sound to the stage that is currently shaking everything up - raw, driving and rousing. "Post-punk is the new indie" - if you like live energy and sharp guitars, you shouldn't miss this. After the successful debut at the sold-out Molotow in Hamburg, the event is finally coming to the capital.

Sounds like a good evening? We think so too!

The bands:

Joy Forever

Joy Forever is a newly founded four-piece band from Hamburg that moves between post-punk and indie rock. They combine raw guitar sounds with unadulterated vocals and take their listeners on an introspective and emotional journey. Their lyrics deal with modern, cosmopolitan life and are characterized by sharp, critical observations and personal depth.

Following the release of their debut EP "All You Need Is Joy" in fall 2024, the band toured their energetic live show across Germany and beyond, with stops in Zurich and Brighton, and supported international acts such as Bartees Strange and Neov.

Their upcoming second EP "Brand New Faces", recorded in Brighton with Theo Verney (English Teacher, Egyptian Blue), will be released in fall 2025 and marks a bolder, clearer chapter in their sound. To bring the atmosphere of their songs to life, the band have collaborated with talented filmmaker Philipp Hartinger to create official music videos for two singles from the EP. A fall tour through Germany and beyond will follow this October.

For fans of The Horrors, Fontaines D.C., DIIV or Slowdive.

Grenade (FRANCE)

With GRENADE, the air is stuffy, charged with rebellion and the desire to escape.
We are caught up in a volcanic sound in which the tension and melancholy of a gentle voice is reminiscent of the British crank wave (Folly Group, Squid, Do nothing...).

GRENADE was born from the meeting of David Orts and Jules Couturié (after his return from London). The two multi-instrumentalists are filled with the same energy and were quickly joined by Ambre Tholance (Ménades), a dazzling punk personality, and Louis Bonnin (Bonne nuit, Désert désir...).

The quartet relies on edgy guitars, lively drum patterns, modular synthesizer arpeggiators and an authoritative voice. It builds a bridge between indie rock and post-punk, always looking across the Channel.

GRENADE gained his first experience in small Parisian clubs, released three singles in 2024 and his first EP, White Lies, on November 8, 2024.

+ special guest: Humans as Ornaments

Berlin duo Humans As Ornaments show a new side with Flowers On Display: raw, honest and full of experimentation. The two childhood friends Dennis Behrendt and Dave Rossel create a sound in which beauty and discomfort go hand in hand. Post-punk, art rock, R&B and hip-hop merge to create an atmosphere that is both powerful and soulful - raw and chaotic, yet intimate and approachable.

With lyrics about big city loneliness and broken friendships, Flowers On Display is their most haunting work to date. Rooted in DIY culture and driven by a clear artistic vision, they are forging their very own path in the European alternative scene - bold, uncompromising and unafraid to question everything.
