Kapa Tult (DE)

In the organizer's words:

Kapa Tult make indie pop with clear words and a direct sound. Their songs tell of everyday life, excessive demands and relationships - of trying to manage everything at the same time and failing again and again.

Musically, this is met with distorted guitars, concise keyboards, polyphonic vocals and catchy hooks. There aren't many frills: the band relies on a raw, dry sound that is close to the action and works just as well live as on their last album Immer alles gleichzeitig, which was produced by master Moses Schneider.

The songs were created collaboratively - all four members contribute their own lyrics and voices. This gives the material a cohesive but versatile feel. The content deals with the pressure to perform, insecurities, dating, friendships and the question of how to organize oneself in a complex world without losing oneself.

Kapa Tult do not deliver escapism, but observations from the here and now - often with a dry eye and a sense of contradiction. Seriousness and irony go hand in hand.

Live, the band impresses with energy, dynamism and a good feel for the audience. Between danceable passages and quieter moments, they create a set that does not require much staging and therefore works.

With singer Inga, who originally comes from Kassel, the performance in the Kulturzelt closes a circle, so to speak:

A home game with special energy!

The concert is unseated. (But there are seats in the stands for early birds)
