As part of the fourth edition of our Boom Bap Rap Spectacular, we are once again presenting a select selection of renowned hip-hop protagonists:

This time we welcome Torch, the Heidelberg pioneer from the very beginning. In the mid-80s, he founded the legendary group Advanced Chemistry together with Toni-L - with whom he will share the stage tonight -, Linguist, Gee-One and DJ Mike MD. Their 1992 track Fremd im eigenen Land has lost none of its topicality to this day: it deals with everyday racism and experiences of exclusion of people with a migration background in Germany and is a powerful response to xenophobia and right-wing violence in the early 1990s.

Torch's solo album Blauer Samt is also considered a milestone in German hip-hop culture. More than 25 years after its release, it gets young and old alike dancing with classics such as Wir waren mal Stars . In March 2023, Torch's pioneering work - together with the Stieber Twins and Cora E. - was recognized by UNESCO: the hip-hop culture from Heidelberg was officially declared Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Before Torch and Toni-L, the one and only Morlockk Dilemma will heat us up . The rapper whose name has to be written in capitals and is only pronounced behind closed doors. The last hardcore rapper of the FRG. With six studio albums, numerous collaborations, mixtapes, features and sampler contributions, he too has long been an old hand in the scene. His latest mixtape Der eiserne Besen 3 brings together the who's who of German battle rap culture - and we are delighted that the Leipzig native, who also regularly causes a stir with the releases of his producer alter ego Morlockko Plus, is finally visiting our city again!

The live part of the evening will be opened by two extremely talented MCs from the wider neighborhood: Bruze Bronzn, German-speaking underground rap artist, songwriter and producer from Hann. Münden, convinces with authentic lyrics, his own productions and a direct, energetic stage presence. Together with Martin Meiwes, who has built up an excellent reputation as a live MC in the local hip-hop scene in Minden, North Rhine-Westphalia, he is sure to get the audience going.

And of course - as always - the doors will open to the Strictly vinyl tunes by Cuzzle Hyopaiz, who will kick off the evening in style!

If your neck still isn't sore from nodding off after the concert, you should head to the after-show party in the Theaterstübchen. From 11 pm, organized by KolorCubes, DJ Haitian Star, DJ Soundtrax and our Hyopaiz Phonky will be playing bird food for a ridiculous 10 euros until the early hours of the morning.

The concert is unseated. (But for early birds there are seats in the stands)
