Karmelgebach has its origins in Stockholm, where exchange students Niko Meinhold from Berlin and Roberta Andersen from Reykjavik met a few years ago and realized that they could make music together very well. They met again in Berlin and were joined by Tobias Schirmer and Kay Lübke. After a few gigs in Germany and at the Reykjavik Jazz Festival, their paths diverged again, Roberta was on a world tour with the band mum, Kay with the Silke Eberhard Trio and Niko and Tobias with the trio Kokotob. They never completely lost sight of each other and so we are very much looking forward to the reunion in 2026. More to come!
