KLANG:RAUM:CLUB is not a crossover, but an invitation to experience classical instruments in a new way - in a place that otherwise sounds different.

Apollonio Maiello is an Italian-German composer known for his extraordinary musical versatility - always innovative, yet deeply rooted in tradition. His works can be heard at renowned festivals and concert halls worldwide. Numerous renowned ensembles and orchestras have commissioned compositions from him, including international collaborations, such as with Grammy-nominated singer Becca Stevens. Maiello has received numerous awards, including the Oginski Composition Prize 2020 and prestigious jazz prizes.

For this evening, Apollonio has invited a special guest: Berlin-based US singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Marla Hansen. As the violist of the New York string quartet Osso, she has worked with Sufjan Stevens and The National, among others. Her solo albums Dust (2020) and Salt (2024) were critically acclaimed - Salt received five stars from Musik Express and was featured on BBC6 and Radio One. Her music artfully combines electronic and acoustic song worlds - personal, powerful, idiosyncratic.
