The cult comedy by French bestselling author Yasmina Reza in the legendary production by H. C. Blumenberg about three men and a painting.

Serge (Stephan Schad), a dermatologist in search of a new life aesthetic, has bought a painting and proudly presents it to his friends - but they can't see anything in it. The picture is monochrome and shows only a white surface, "all white, with small white stripes", measuring one meter sixty by one meter twenty. His friend Marc (Peter Jordan), the aeronautical engineer, doesn't understand why Serge has spent so much money on "this shit", as he calls it. Has he become a snob overnight? And what common ground is there left with a man whose judgment of taste has been so fundamentally shaken overnight? The white painting becomes a tough test of their friendship.

The third in the group, Yvan (Sascha Nathan), a stationer, actually wanted to surprise his friends with the news of his late engagement and has unexpected problems with the wedding preparations, which turn out to be more complicated than he thought. Now he, who by nature prefers to avoid conflict, has to play referee in this bizarre art dispute. But at some point, even the gentle Yvan has his knickers in a twist ... And it finally becomes clear that the white picture is increasingly turning out to be a blank canvas onto which each of the three can project their ideas of their friendship.

The comedy "Art" deals with the art of living and the play thus becomes a mirror of the present. And it has also made Yasmina Reza, who recently published her novel "SERGE", one of the world's most frequently performed playwrights.
