"Art and culture after National Socialism"

Jutta Braun and Winfried Süß in conversation with Jens Bisky

There are still many gaps in the Nazi reappraisal of art and culture today. The "Contributions to the History of National Socialism" (BGNS) presents new research: How did museums and exhibitions deal with the involvement of the cultural sector in Nazi persecution and Nazi art theft? What strategies were used to marginalize victims of National Socialism once again and to "rehabilitate" artists close to the regime? Jutta Braun and Winfried Süß head the "Regime of the Social" department at the ZZF Potsdam and have jointly published the current BGNS volume "Art and Culture after National Socialism". They will talk to journalist and author Jens Bisky about new classifications and perspectives on the topic.
