About the exhibition:

Through an illuminated window, the view goes into a room, into the heart of a shirt. It goes somewhere, to familiar places or to unknown, perhaps lost worlds, to "Where we dream". This is the title of the exhibition by Munich painter, illustrator and author Quint Buchholz with pictures that range from realism to magic.

They are snapshots full of open spaces, always telling stories. In this way, the pictures facilitate encounters: with art, with the world, with oneself.

Over 90 originals, placed in new, surprising contexts at various stations, attract the eye and invite you to look at them: Boats set sail for another shore, departure is in the air - or is it arrival? The vastness of the sky and the sea awakens and satisfies longing, the sound of the waves and the colors are full of atmosphere and set associations free. Polar bears leave tracks in the snow, a lion strides through the picture - the relationship between humans and animals is one of Quint Buchholz's major themes.

Quint Buchholz contrasts the noisy world, the constantly overtaking and often threatening present with pictures full of poetry, tender wit, beauty and tranquillity. On the border between realism and magic, they do not commit themselves, despite their painterly precision. They want to be told. This is what defines Quint Buchholz's art. It seeks encounters. It enables relationships. This can be experienced and admired in over 90 originals at the MÄDLER ART FORUM.
