On the day of the nationwide LONG NIGHT OF ASTRONOMY on August 12, 2026 we offer you:
Safe LIVE observation of the large partial solar eclipse (80%) with telescopes protected by filters. In parallel in the white light of the sun's surface and in the red light of the ionized hydrogen in the sun's atmosphere. The observation was also supported by digital "SmartScopes" and protective glasses for guests. Further items on the program:
- Projection of the course of the eclipse on the screen
- The CCAT submillimeter telescope in Chile (guest contribution by the SFB1601 of the University of Cologne)
