Laura Lee, also known as one half of the internationally acclaimed indie rock duo Gurr, is stepping into the spotlight again - this time as frontwoman and chief songwriter of Laura Lee & the Jettes. The second album "Tough Love Paradigm" will be released on September 5 and the band will be playing release concerts.

Laura Lee & the Jettes ' second album is a bold development. This is where grungy indie pop meets riot grrrl attitude with alternative rock melancholy and great hooks. No band from Germany sounds cooler at the moment. The vividly detailed mix by Collin Dupuis (Lana Del Rey, Angel Olsen, St. Vincent, among others) and the British underground legend Rhys Edwards from Ulrika Spacek make sure of that.

The first singles have already been successfully played on radio stations such as KEXP, FluxFM, Radio Eins or Deutschlandfunk Nova, entered the US college radio charts and were celebrated by media such as VISIONS or DIFFUS.

In terms of content, Laura Lee & The Jettes are opening up new fields: "Unsolicited Advice" quotes unsolicited advice that Laura received from men as a mother, "Tough Love Paradigm" deals with borderline experiences of love, the new single "Ordinary People" wants to convey in hopeless times: "it keeps on getting better".

The band presented new songs live this year at the New Colossus Festival in New York City and is part of the official selection for the renowned SXSW Festival 2025 in Austin, Texas.

At the same time, Laura remains active as a creative force outside the band - most recently with an autobiographical documentary by Vice, as well as musical work for theater productions such as "Meister und Margarita" at Schauspiel Leipzig.

With new energy, new songs and a clear vision, Laura Lee proves that she continues to be one of the most exciting voices on the international indie scene. Laura Lee & The Jettes will be playing a special concert in Berlin to mark the album release: the band will be playing twice at Berlin's LARK club - once during the day so that families and children can also attend the concert, and once in the evening for the normal Experience.
