Hanna Caspian: The Liebenberg Castle Trilogy
The DKB STIFTUNG für gesellschaftliches Engagement invites you to the reading fall at Schloss & Gut Liebenberg. From September 14, 2025, visitors can expect a literary program that is closely linked to the history of the traditional place.
MODERATED BY JAN BEJŠOVEC, CURATOR OF CULTURAL HERITAGE AT SCHLOSS & GUT LIEBENBERG
SPIEGEL bestselling author Hanna Caspian knows how to tell historical turning points in an exciting and entertaining way and has been delighting her readers for years. In her "Schloss-Liebenberg" trilogy, she takes up the infamous Harden-Eulenburg affair - one of the biggest scandals surrounding Kaiser Wilhelm II, which severely damaged the monarch's authority. Caspian recounts these events not from the perspective of the powerful, but through the eyes of the servants at Liebenberg Castle. This creates a vivid picture of everyday life between dependence, hope and social constraints, which extends to the outbreak of the First World War. The reading in the historic castle hall - a central setting of the novels - promises an atmospheric evening in which history and entertainment merge in a special way.
