Let us be sensational - choreographic Lab

In the organizer's words:

In this choreographic laboratory, we will explore choreographic working methods that have emerged in parallel with the development of the choreography of vibrant matter/s, a dance work about anger as a life-affirming feminist force- methods that have both shaped the process and emerged from it.

The workshop will begin with a physical warm-up that will lead into a laboratory where we will work on individual choreographic material. Through movement practices (improvisation), writing practices and mapping/painting sketches that I will guide, participants will explore their own inner landscapes, urgencies and curiosities in the moment. We will work on translating these into choreographic material. This means e.g. - in movement and presence qualities, spatial and temporal decisions, possibly also in the inclusion of objects, music, etc....

Level: Open Level. The workshop is aimed at adults and is suitable for both professional dancers and amateurs. No previous knowledge or special preparation is required - just an interest and openness to experiment.

Language of instruction: German, if required also English, French or Spanish

The workshop takes place as part of the new OPEN FORM:AT residency at TanzFaktur. On April 13 and 17, Clara-Marie Müller will be offering further workshops as part of the professional training, focusing on physical exploration and working with different sensational states. Here, too, not only professionals are invited. On Sunday, April 19, the residency will end with an OPEN STUDIO: Process & Research Sharing.

__________________________________________

In this choreographic laboratory we will engage with working methods that were developed alongside the creation of vibrant matter/s - a dance work exploring anger as a life-affirming feminist force. These methods shaped the creative process and partly emerged from it.

The workshop begins with a physical warm-up and then transitions into a laboratory setting where we will work on individual choreographic material. Through movement practices (improvisation), writing practices, and mapping/drawing exercises that I will guide, participants will explore their own inner landscapes, urgencies, and curiosities arising in the moment.

Together we will work on translating these explorations into choreographic material - for example into qualities of movement and presence, spatial and temporal decisions, and potentially the inclusion of objects, music, etc.

Level: Open level. The workshop is aimed at adults and is suitable for both professional dancers and non-professionals. No previous experience or special preparation is required - only curiosity and openness to experimentation.

Class language: German, with support in English, French, and Spanish if needed.

The workshop takes place within the framework of the new residency OPEN FORM:AT of TanzFaktur. On April 13 and 17, 2026, Clara-Marie Müller will also offer additional workshops as part of the professional training program, focusing on physical explorations and working with different "sensational states." These sessions are also open to non-professionals.

The residency concludes on Sunday, April 19, with an OPEN STUDIO: Process & Research Sharing.
