Literaturfest: »KUNST ALS WIDERSTAND« DAN PERJOVSCHI

In the organizer's words:

Dana Grigorcea got to know the "Freedom Artist" Dan Perjovschi (* 1961) through his work in Romania: His cartoons and pictograms - drawn and written with a thick black pen on large white surfaces, often directly on walls - were immediately accessible to her. Perjovschi's themes revolve around freedom, censorship and propaganda, which he critically counteracts with his works. He has long been internationally renowned and his (temporary) works have been shown worldwide (MoMA, Biennale di Venezia, etc.). He is developing a growing work of art for the Literature Festival; he talks to Dana Grigorcea about art as a direct reaction to politics: why does it have to be created precisely where it disturbs?
