LSD & The Search for God

LSD and the Search for God arrived on the Northern California coast in 2005, seemingly from another time and place, captivating San Francisco with hypnotic shows built on swirling guitars, rapturous drone sounds, fuzz-soaked pop melodies and dreamy vocal harmonies.

Early shows and recordings were compared to My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Yo La Tengo, Spacemen 3 and Sonic Youth, quickly earning the band a reputation as an essential act in Northern California's underground shoegaze and psych scene.

Their self-titled debut EP LSD and the Search for God sold out before its official release date, was highly praised by critics and still regularly appears in lists of essential shoegaze releases.

All five songs cemented the band's reputation as key players in the shoegaze revival of the late 2000s. The song Starting Over manages a rare balancing act between vulnerability and sublimity and has transcended fan favorite status to become a modern shoegaze anthem - one that is inextricably linked to the movement it helped shape.

With growing anticipation for their iconic debut album, the band released their second EP Heaven Is a Place, which exceeded all expectations, expanding their sound and sharpening their vision.
